“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies […]. The man who never reads lives only one.” – George R. R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons
There are things that shape us throughout our lives. It may be a situation, an event, a person, a song, a play, and reading for many of us. There are books that make you make you not feel alone, take you to other worlds, live another life, make new friends, and become another version of yourself. But, I believe the most powerful part of reading is that you can learn to understand someone else’s thoughts and ideas, as well as your own. That’s where I believe my passion for books began.
Hello, welcome to Books That Shape Us. My name is Ana Paula and I’m from Mexico City.
Ever since I started reading, I’ve discovered new fantastical worlds and have travelled through my own in multiple ways. Yet, I felt like what I learned from them wasn’t worth only keeping to myself, so I decided to start this blog to share it with other people.
I created this with the intention of sharing with you all book lovers my thoughts and feelings about all those books that give meaning to our lives (“those books that shape us”). I’ll be posting reviews, as well as book tags, book news and some movie, Broadway, and TV show reviews. I am no expert on the topic, but I’ll do my best.
Feel free to comment on any post (constructive criticism is always helpful), fill in the “Contact” form below to leave a comment, subscribe to my blog and you can send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org (I’ll reply as soon as I can).
